Hi Mary!
Thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney! And congratulations on your first trip to Walt Disney World! When you arrive, make sure to ask a Cast Member for a celebration button for first-time Guests!
According to the
Walt Disney World official rules, tickets can be upgraded if it is within 14 days of a Disney Theme Park Ticket's first use and the ticket has remaining admissions. If it is more than 14 days after first use or if no admissions remain, then a ticket may not be modified or upgraded.
There are a few different options you have to upgrade your tickets. I will outline each of them here:
Park Hopper Option
The
park hopper option allows you to visit more than one park a day. I love this option because I can visit one park early in the day, go back to my room and rest midday, and then visit a different park in the evening to have dinner and watch fireworks.
Park Hopper Plus Option
The
park hopper plus option includes all of the benefits of the park hopper plus admission to
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course,
Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4:00 PM) or
Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4:00 PM).
Water Park and Sport Option
This option includes admission to the places I indicated in my answer above but doesn't include the park hopper option.
You can upgrade your tickets in person at the ticket windows, which are located at all of the theme parks and Typhoon Lagoon. You can also upgrade at the concierge desks at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or Guest Relations at
Disney Springs.
Magically,
Stacy
