    I know that if you stay at a WDW resort, you receive the magic bands for free. What if you end up purchasing a WDW resort room through Expedia? Do you still get this benefit?

    Hi Katie,

    Every guest staying at a Walt Disney World resort is entitled to a free MagicBand for each member of his/her party, regardless of how they booked their accommodations.

    The key to getting your MagicBands is to make sure that you've input your resort reservation confirmation number into your My Disney Experience account. (Create an account at DisneyWorld.com).  Guests who book through Disney will have this happen automatically. If you book through an aggregator like Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. you'll often have to enter the confirmation number yourself. Make sure you get the Disney confirmation number, not just the Expedia confirmation number.
