I would like to know what specific construction will be going on in August specifically through 7th through the 9th at Boardwalk Inn? Thank you!

    Hi there Christina!

Thanks for visiting us with a question today. I'm a big fan of Disney's BoardWalk Inn so I think you've made a great choice in considering it for an upcoming stay. The atmosphere, nightlife, dining options, and of course, the close walking proximity to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios make it an ideal location for guests of all ages and interests.

As you've seen on the website, this resort is still in the midst of a refurbishment. Last year, the lobby received some updates including the addition of Carousel Coffee just steps away from the check-in area. The guest rooms also received a complete refresh with updated fixtures, flooring, and finishes. Check out alumni panelist Jennifer B.'s room tour here! I believe the majority of the standard room refurbishments are complete, but you might still see some activity in the halls throughout the day.

More recently, the exterior boardwalk view sections were being refreshed with some scaffolding and construction lifts present. Construction is also still ongoing on The Cake Bake Shop which is just a little way down the boardwalk from the main lobby. You'll likely see construction walls and ongoing work there until the space is complete. I'm eagerly awaiting the opening of this restaurant, so I hope it's finished sooner rather than later!

Though we do not have access to the specific schedule and details of ongoing construction, I'm hopeful that it won't affect your stay. Activity is limited to daytime hours when most guests are off enjoying the parks of the resort pool. My family stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, the Disney Vacation Club side of the resort last summer, and were not bothered by the activity. Similarly, I've stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with lots of exterior scaffolding and construction present, but it didn't detract from my experience, even while lounging by the pool. I'm crossing my fingers this won't ruin the magic for you, but you are certainly welcome to contact a Cast Member by phone to inquire about openings at another resort.

Christina, I hope this puts you at ease. If we can answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to come back and let us know.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
