At this time, there is not a way to check the status of the
Disney Skyliner on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. If the Skyliner is unavailable, you'll typically see signs outside of the station or on the path leading up to the entrance. In my experience, rain does not cause the Skyliner to stop operating. Lightning in the immediate area, on the other hand, would cause it to stop running until the area is clear. In that case, complimentary bus service would be available to you. As you know, safety is a top priority for everyone at Walt Disney World Resort!
My rainy day must-haves for a day at a Disney Theme Park include a poncho, lots of patience, and a sense of humor. While rain can slow you down, it definitely doesn't have to stop the fun! I hope you have the best time during your vacation. Please stop back by with any other questions!
