I know that renovations at All Star Movies are almost complete but I'm unsure if all of the rooms were renovated or just some rooms in each building were. If I were to book a preferred room would I be guaranteed a renovated room?

Hi, Emily! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for stopping by with your question! The guest rooms at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort have been undergoing a complete refurbishment lately. While the pixie-dust has been flowing strong, they still are not quite done with it all yet. The last report I heard was that buildings 4 and 6-10 were complete. Work in buildings 2 and 3 are underway and may possibly be complete by the end of summer. Booking a specific room type may not help you get into one of these new rooms, as the completed buildings are a mix of the refurbished and older rooms. If buildings 2 and 3 do finish soon, then it actually looks like you may have a better shot of getting a refurbished room if you book a standard view room, rather than preferred.

The new rooms are really wonderful, with many changes such as the carpet being removed and the beds being swapped to one queen bed and one queen-size Innovabed, a murphy-style bed that can fold up into the wall. This gives you lots of room as you move about in the morning getting ready for a fun day in the theme parks. Disney's Pop Century Resort completed these same type refurbishments a short time ago. If you would like to guarantee that you have this type of room for your stay, then I recommend you try to reserve a room in that resort. If you do prefer to stay with Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, then I recommend you call the Disney Resort Reservations line and ask for them to add a request on your reservation for a refurbished room. Please note that these are simply requests and cannot be guaranteed.

I hope this information helps you plan a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
