    I know I am planning WAY ahead, but we are thinking of a DisneyWorld trip last week of August 2013. Is it too hot this time of year to enjoy the parks? Also, will it be very busy, or will kids in Florida be back to school? Thanks!

    Welcome to the Mom's Panel, Andrea!  We're glad you're hEAR!  You are my kind of girl getting a jump start on the Disney Vacation Planning. I am also a huge planner and completely understand wanting to go ahead and get an idea of a time frame for your 2013 trip!  I live in Georgia so we see very similar temperatures here as they do in Florida. I will not lie to you...August is really hot in the South!  I would recommend visiting the parks first thing in the morning when they open and then plan to go back to your Disney Resort for a break or swimming in the early afternoon to get out of the heat for a bit. You can then reenter the parks in the early evening and enjoy all the activities of the parks when the temperatures start to cool back down. Schools in Georgia usually go back in session in early August and Florida schools typically go back mid-August. I do believe many schools across the United States start back after Labor Day, but I do not know of any Florida schools that start back that late. I do think the crowd levels will be a little more manageable in late August than if you visited in June or July.  The unofficial website allears.net does show the last week of August to be "Highest Attendance" on their Historic Attendance chart with crowds dropping off after Labor Day.  I hope this helps with your planning, Andrea!  Please write back if I can answer any other questions for you.  Best wishes for a Magical 2013 Trip!
