    I know that you can order a special cake for birthdays. Can you order key lime pie for a birthday celebration?

    Hi, Ruth!  There are only a handful of times that I've actually seen Key Lime pie on a menu at a Walt Disney World restaurant, and I keep pretty good tabs on it, as it's my husband's favorite dessert!  

    Because the Disney Cake Hotline deals primarily in ordering special birthday cakes, they are going to have to put you in contact with the culinary team of the restaurant where you are going to be having your birthday celebration meal.  It will have to be determined by the staff at that restaurant as to whether or not they can pull this off.  Keep in mind that most of the restaurants really have some sort of a theme, so it may not be possible to get a Key Lime pie from somewhere like, say, Artist Point.

    The phone number for the cake hotline is 407-827-2253.  If you can tell them where you'll be dining, they can help you get in touch with someone at the restaurant.

    Just so you know, the best, most authentic Key Lime pie you will find anywhere is available at Olivia's Restaurant at Disney's Old Key West resort.  They are the perfect combination of sweet and tart, and each dessert is like it's own little Key Lime pie, surrounded by a delicious graham cracker crust.  You might make your celebration meal a reservation at Olivia's, or alternatively, stop there earlier to pick up one of these awesome desserts to go!
