I know Ohana do fun activities for children during the dinner service. Do these run from 3pm? Or just later in the evening? We are coming from the UK so will likely be early diners but don't want to miss out on the coconut races!

Welcome to our Disney Parks Moms Panel family, Caroline! We are one big 'ohana here!

Speaking of...'Ohana, which is the restaurant located in the Great Ceremonial House at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, is one of my 'ohana's favorite Walt Disney World traditions. My Mouseketeers always look forward to our dinners here, and they love that it is served in stages. It starts off with some Hawaiian Welcome Bread. After that comes the big skillet filled with all the heavenly goods- teriyaki noodles, stir-fried veggies, honey-coriander chicken wings, and pork dumplings tossed in a garlic ginger sauce (I think my 17-year-old son has visions of those dumplings and wings in his sleep). And then there is the meat...lots and lots of meat served on long metal skewers. But the main event is the 'Ohana Bread Pudding à la mode served with deliciously warm caramel sauce and bananas. Here's a Moms Panel tip: arrive extra hungry and pack those stretchy pants!

The dinner service starts at 3:30 PM nightly, and once an hour, "cousins" are invited to participate in the entertainment, which includes coconut races with brooms, ukulele playing with a conga line, and limbo contests. It's a great way to get up and moving before that next round of skewers arrive at your table! Although there isn't a published schedule, our reservation was at 5:00 PM during our last trip, and the games started shortly after we were seated.

Thanks (or mahalo, as the Hawaiians say), for visiting us, Caroline. We hope to see ya' real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
