I know the monorail is the only form of transportation from Contemporary to Epcot. My family and I are hoping to rope drop Epcot (so excited guardians has standby now) just wondering what time the monorail starts running and what time we should be in line?

    Cheers Bethany!

Thanks for speeding by planDisney! You are about to stay at one of my favorite Resorts. I love the refurbished theme, the excellent food (with multiple Mobile Order options!), and its proximity to Magic Kingdom. But you've got a very important date at EPCOT, so let's get you there before it's too late!

You actually have a few options to get from your hotel to EPCOT:

Monorail: Take the monorail from the resort, transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center, and then head to EPCOT. That commute will take 20-30 minutes, and the monorail starts 30 minutes before the park opens, so I'd jump on the first monorail at 8 to be there for Early Entry at 8:30 (since you are a Disney Resort Hotel guest).

Bus: Bus service starts 45 minutes before park opening and runs approximately every 15-20 minutes. You could take the first bus from the Contemporary around 7:45 and arrive at EPCOT about 15 minutes before opening, which gives you plenty of time to get to the front of the pack for rope drop!

Minnie Van: Minnie Van Service through Lyft is the preferred rideshare on property. I love Minnie Vans; they are practically perfect in every way. Always clean, super cute, and the Cast Member drivers are fantastic. You can request a car seat (if necessary), and they have accessible vans. The ride from the Contemporary to EPCOT will take about 15 minutes, so I would arrange for one to pick you up no later than 8:10.

Good luck with your travels. I hope your commute is a little less exciting than Cosmic Rewind!
