Hi Heather, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’ll be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and enjoying all the Mickey-shaped snacks in just a few weeks!
Now, let’s figure out your options for getting
MagicBands for your trip! Recently the pre-arrival selection on the
Disney World website has been pretty limited. On my computer, it defaults to showing six MagicBands and if I click Grid View, it reveals a larger selection (currently it's showing me 14, but this can change at any time). So double-check that you’re viewing everything available.
It’s nice to get the pre-arrival price and have your MagicBands all ready for the start of your trip. So, if that’s a priority, I’d order from the designs available soon. If you purchase the pre-arrival MagicBands 11 or more days before check-in, they’ll be shipped to your home. If you want to wait a little longer in case more designs are added, you can still order 6-10 days before check-in and your MagicBands will be waiting for you at your
Disney Resort hotel’s front desk. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to predict when new designs will be added.
Now, if you’re open to waiting, there’s a whole new world of MagicBands to discover at Disney World! While you won’t get the pre-arrival discount, you’ll find lots more options to choose from. Your resort hotel’s gift shop will have MagicBands, but usually the theme parks and
Disney Springs have a larger selection.
Disney Springs even has a store,
D-Tech on Demand, where you can customize your own MagicBands! There are so many designs available and you can even add your name to make them really personalized. It can take a bit of time to print the MagicBands, so I’d recommend going to D-Tech first and then shopping or eating while you wait for them to be ready.
World of Disney is nearby and it’s a one-stop shop for all the Disney merchandise you need! You’ll find everything from matching t-shirts to Disney-themed housewares. And while you’re at World of Disney, stopping into
Amorette’s Patisserie next door is always a must-do for me. They have lots of delicious treats themed to our favorite Disney pals… almost too good to eat!
While you’re looking for the perfect MagicBand, there are two alternatives you can use in the meantime--
Disney MagicMobile Service, which gives you most MagicBand features right from your phone’s mobile wallet, and a Key to the World card. You can get this card from
Guest Relations or your Disney Resort Hotel's front desk.
I’m wishing on a star that you find the practically perfect MagicBand! And, if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
