Hello, i know you get these kind of questions alot sorry! Ok, we have 2 kids(preteens) and we can't decide between the AKL and the Poly! We like the AKL because it's inside the park but the poly has a really cool theme. Thanks so much! Love the panel! :)

Isn't it great to have to struggle deciding between two great choices?

First off, either way you decide you will be happy with your choice.

To begin with, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is not actually inside the park. While it has a savannah on the grounds of the resort with animals, it is actually a short distance away from the real park. Nevertheless it is a very cool place, and the animal viewing areas are amazing.

The Polynesian, as you mentioned, also has a very cool theme. It may not have animal watching venues, but it has plenty of other cool features.

If I had to choose, I would go with the Polynesian. Why? With pre-teens you have some neat features that they will enjoy. They can watch fireworks and the water parade from the beach. They can ride the monorail. They can easily get to two other resorts and experience their unique settings as well. On top of that, you have monorail access to two parks, where guests at the Animal Kingdom Lodge have to bus to all destinations.

    I hope that helps!

    Have a magical vacation!
