Hi! O Would like to know which hotel or resort you recommend to spend christmas night, also to see a fireworks show?? My kids are 8, 5 and 2 yo

    Hi Tomas!

Welcome to planDisney! Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year, especially at the Walt Disney World Resort! You’ll find gorgeous holiday decorations such as towering Christmas trees, wreaths, and even gingerbread displays!

Tomas, if you were planning to visit for Christmas I would book soon. It is one of the most popular times of year to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort and it is likely rooms and Disney Park Pass Reservations will fill.

With younger children, you’ll want to be close to the Magic Kingdom. This is the center of the magic and is home to many classic Disney attractions popular with kids such as Peter Pan’s Flight, it’s a small world, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I recommend considering Disney’s Contemporary Resort. One of the original resort hotels at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a fan favorite. You’ll be within walking distance to Magic Kingdom, and the Monorail runs right through the middle of the main building! Character dining is available where you can reserve breakfast with the Fab 5 at Chef Mickey's. Booking a theme park view room would mean you'd be able to see the fireworks when nighttime spectaculars return. Please know, Tomas, that currently Disney is not showing fireworks, as these popular shows continue to be on pause. I am hopeful they will return for the holidays, but Mickey has not made any official announcement yet.

If you were looking for a room with more home-like accommodations, check out Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It has all the same amenities as the original resort but offers Deluxe Villa Accommodations. Deluxe Studios sleep 4 plus a child under 3 in a crib and offer a kitchenette. Want more space to stretch out and put the kids to bed in another room? Check out their 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas that feature a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and separate living and sleeping spaces.

Another good choice might be Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can find both standard resort rooms, or Deluxe Studio Villas here as well as overwater bungalows! Several buildings offer a lake view where you would be able to see fireworks if they have returned. The Monorail also serves this resort where you can be quickly whisked away to Magic Kingdom!

I hope one of these ideas sounds like the perfect place for your family to enjoy their Christmas, Tomas. Please let us know what additional questions you have as you plan your visit!
