Welcome aboard, Bridget! You must be so thrilled to get the opportunity to set sail to the Last Frontier of Alaska next summer with Disney Cruise Line! Plus, have you heard about the
Disney Wonder's upcoming enhancements? My family and I cannot wait to experience all of the new venues and activities that will soon be on the Wonder!
I'm sorry to say that there aren't currently any hands-on cooking opportunities for children on the ships that are more advanced than the two offerings that include pizza making and cookie or cupcake making. However, if your son really loves cooking, he can try some of his favorite recipes from the main dining restaurants on the Disney Wonder once he gets home. If there is a particular recipe he really enjoys, ask your dining server for the recipe. The chefs are happy to write out their recipe so that a guest can re-create the dish at home. We have done this a few times, and though I like to think I'm a pretty decent cook, I can never get the meals to taste quite as heavenly as they do on the ship. But, it brings back great memories of our sailings, so we try anyway!
Your son won't have the opportunity to dine in the
Adult Exclusive restaurant, Palo, though I hope you and your husband will make reservations for a delightful meal experience there yourself. But, before you sail, give this recipe to your son and perhaps the two of you can work on perfecting
Palo's signature chocolate souffle. Then, you can try the real thing onboard and rate it against your own!
Have fun over this next year as you continue to prepare and plan for your Alaskan sailing on the Disney Wonder, Bridget!
