I know that 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill for 6 or more. My question is that we have a group of 7 but that will be 3 separate bills. Will we automatically be charged the 18% due to party size or is the the number of people on the bill?

Hi Robert! I love visiting Walt Disney World with friends and family -- how fun that you have meals planned with several other people! At Disney restaurants, an automatic 18% gratuity is added to the check for parties of 6 or more. Technically your table of 7 would be subject to this automatic gratuity, even if you request that the server bring three separate checks.

When I've dined with other families at Disney World and requested separate checks, I've found that the servers sometimes add the the 18 percent gratuity, and sometimes they don't. Because your party does fall into the automatic gratuity category, I'd recommend that you expect it to be added to your bill, but be sure to check at the end of the meal to see if it actually was, since the application of this gratuity can vary when you have separate checks.
