Jessica, Walt Disney World is a fantastic place to ring in the New Year! The Parks will still be decked out in all their Christmas finery, and there will be fireworks displays like no other.
If you are looking to celebrate at one of the resort hotels, Disney's Contemporary Resort is the place to be. Last year, two celebrations were available, including a Pixar-themed one for families, and
Disney's Countdown to Midnight for adults which was held in the Fantasia Ballroom. In addition, there are usually several Table Service restaurants at the Deluxe Resorts (including Disney's Swan & Dolphin) which will have special New Year's Eve menus. Fort Wilderness has hosted a New Year's Eve Beach Dessert Party in the past with special Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog, where you'll find information on these events in the coming months.
The theme parks also offer
festive entertainment, but be sure to arrive early, as crowd levels will be heavier than usual. Head to the Magic Kingdom for the fan-favorite light up the night sky Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks, which are usually scheduled for 6:30 pm and 11:50 pm on December 30 and 31. Epcot's revelry across the countries in World Showcase with starts DJs, live music, and unique dining options. With Illuminations: Reflections of Earth ending this summer, it remains to be seen what kind of pyrotechnics they have planned, but I'm sure it will be spectacular! Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs typically have smaller but equally fun celebrations, such live DJ dance parties.
Whatever you end up deciding, Jessica, you'll have a great time counting down to 2020 with my pal Mickey!
