    I know early February is a slower time in the parks, if I pay for a trip now and a discount comes out in the new year will I be eligible? I would like to start making reservations, but do not want to miss out on any possible savings.

    Pamela,

    Hello from Indiana!

    So as with all things Disney - it depends.

    Some discounts and other related package programs are launched with a caveat that you can apply them to existing reservations. Others (frankly, most of them) cannot be applied to an existing reservation. Remember that the packages are meant to lure new customers, and if you already have a reservation, then they already have you!

    What I recommend is to make a reservation via an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner like MouseFan Travel. They are a no-fee agency, so it is the same cost as making the reservation with Disney directly. More importantly they can help you with your specific question in two ways;

    1. They will know of every program that comes along. So where you may hear of one program, they know about them ALL
    2. They can assess what programs can lower your cost, or upgrade your experience. That reflects whether it means a cancellation of the current reservation and a re-booking on the new program, or simply applying the new program to the existing reservation.

    BOTTOM LINE: I would always recommend to friends to a) use a no-fee Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, and b) make their reservation early, and not wait for discounts that may never happen.

    Have a magical vacation!
