Welcome to planDisney, Cheryl!
Your question brought a big smile to my face because my family absolutely loved the
Main Street Electrical Parade! I can hear that catchy electronic music and see the colorful floats in my mind’s eye, and it brings back great memories of munching popcorn in the cooler evening air. Swoon!
Cheryl, we’re not exactly sure about the future of the Main Street Electrical Parade.
It made a brief appearance at Disneyland Resort, but hasn’t been seen since. Some super fans are making a wish and doing as dreamers do in hopes that the Main Street Electrical Parade comes back to Magic Kingdom Park for
Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary, but there has been no indication that it will happen. My advice is to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates – I’m sending you some pixie dusted wishes that we see that wonderful, nostalgic parade again one day!
I do want to make sure you know that the
Electrical Water Pageant is floating its way across Seven Seas Lagoon again. This water parade has a lot in common with the Main Street Electrical Parade: similar lights and music, whimsical creatures, and a fun, retro vibe. The Electrical Water Pageant can be viewed from any of the Magic Kingdom Park area resorts –
I recently helped another Guest find the perfect viewing location, and I hope these tips help you, too. Grab your favorite Disney treat (I recommend a classic, like a Mickey caramel apple or cotton candy from the
Main Street Confectionery) and pull up a spot for this trip down memory lane!
Finally, since you shared that you could use that Main Street Electrical Parade magic in your life, I want to encourage you to
reach out to Disney to share your feedback. Disney Cast Members are always looking for ways to “keep moving forward,” but they care so much about Guests’ experiences and feedback, and your thoughts are welcome.
Cheryl, thanks for getting that catchy electronic song stuck in my head and for this walk down memory lane. Please visit us again if you have any further questions, and I hope your next visit is magical.
Your fellow Main Street Electrical Parade fan,
Robyn
