Hi, Kathleen! I have an answer for you, but I want to first forewarn you that you may want to bring some pants with large pockets, your largest handbag, or maybe a whole backpack to store all the change you are going to need if you plan to visit all of the coin press machines! Pressed coins are a wonderful keepsake and Walt Disney World Resort offers an amazing number of opportunities all across the Resort to purchase these little souvenirs. Many of them are themed to the area within which they are purchased, so guests often press a coin to remember things like a first thrill ride or their first stay at a specific resort.
Coin press machines can be found at every theme park, the water parks, Disney Springs, many of the Resort hotels, and other locations. The number of locations and number of pressed coins that can be made at each location fluctuate. Most of the machines press either pennies or quarters, but be on the lookout for a few special pressed dime machines! The easiest way to find each current location is to
check the Coin Press Machines page, which features an interactive map. The latest count I have seen says that there are 27 locations in Magic Kingdom Park, 23 locations in Epcot, 17 locations in Disney's Hollywood Studios, 14 locations in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, 14 locations in Disney Springs, at least one location in 19 different Disney Resort hotels, in ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and in each of Disney's Water Parks and Miniature Golf Courses. In all, the total number of pressed coins available to be made at any time can number well over several hundred!
To help you store all of those coins you will need for pressing and also for paying for them (bring lots of quarters for that!), I recommend you stock up on capped tubes. Those tubes that my kids love to grab in the check out line in the grocery store (full of candy that melts in your mouth, not in your hands) and also prescription medicine bottles are the perfect storage containers! Start filling those up and plan to pop one or two in your backpack each day during your trip. My friend and fellow panelist, Missy,
recently shared how her family helps save up for the coin press machines and I think it's a pretty magical idea!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your question and please let us know if you have any others as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
