I know the DCL souvenir Beer Mug can be traded in for a token onboard so you don’t have to carry it around with you. Does the Drink of the Day souvenir cup have the same concept?

    Hello, Casey!

Thank you for contacting planDisney. It sounds like you are planning a trip onboard the Disney Cruise Line! How exciting! My family likes sailing on Disney Cruises because we can experience the magic of Disney while also enjoying a relaxing vacation. It is truly the best of both worlds!

I chatted with Cast Member Tegan who said that tokens are not given out for the Drink of the Day at this time. However, that is subject to change, so make sure to check with a Crew Member onboard your ship for up-to-date information on the Drink of the Day cup. The cup can be used for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, but Drink of the Day cup refills are not free. Your onboard account will be charged for each drink you purchase, including an automatic 18% gratuity. After purchasing the souvenir cup, a Guest can receive about a third more of their drink compared to purchasing the drink without the cup. I recommend purchasing it on the first day of your cruise to maximize the use of your cup!

The Beer Mug Savings Package that you mentioned offers a similar deal. Guests who are 21 years and older can purchase a Beer Mug to receive a 21-ounce refill for the price of a 16-ounce beer during their voyage (except on sailings embarking from Civitavecchia). Beer Mug tokens are often available for Guests who do not want to use the same mug throughout the duration of their cruise. I suggest purchasing the Beer Mug ahead of time so it can be delivered to your stateroom upon arrival. Just visit the Onboard Gifts page on the Disney Cruise Line website or call Disney Cruise Line to complete your purchase.

Casey, I hope this information was helpful. Please reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions!

    Happy sailing!
