Ahoy, Nivedita!
My family is also looking forward to a Western itinerary sailing on the Disney Fantasy, and we are in the process of narrowing down our
Port Adventure list. Since you are so close to your sailing, you may want to pick two or three options for each port that you think your family will enjoy and then check availability with the Port Adventures Desk once aboard. There are several factors to consider as you plan including experience type, price range, age range and how long the experience lasts. If you want your entire crew to venture off together, you'll want to pay close attention to see if the ages 0-2 are included in the description. Many times those under 3 are not charged for the excursion, but there are ones that do charge regardless of age. I always recommend factoring the duration of the adventure into your decision. My kids typically do better with excursions that are only three to four hours in length because they can be tiring. We experienced a Port Adventure each day on our first sailing and found that it was too much. The ship is a destination in itself so you want to find a nice balance between your on board fun and adventures ashore.
If your family enjoys the water, I suggest focusing on splashtacular adventures like the Cozumel Beach Break or the Melia Beach Break with lunch in Jamaica. If you want to immerse your crew in the Mexican culture, the Chocolate and Piñata Seaside Workshop is Cozumel is a fun option. If nature and sightseeing sound intriguing, the Discover Native Cayman and the Saltwater Forest may work. There really is a lot to consider so talk to your family, browse the Disney Cruise Line website and speak to the crew.
Best wishes for a Very Merrytime aboard the Disney Fantasy, Nivedita!
