Hiya, Diana!
It's always a
practically perfect day here at planDisney, but you've made it even more so by stopping by to ask about my favorite character experience in all of Walt Disney World Resort, Chip 'n' Dale at
Donald's Dino-Bash! For my family, no Walt Disney World Resort vacation is complete without a visit with our beloved chipmunks in their adorable - I mean, fearsome - dinosaur attire. There's just something about the rascally duo dressed as C
hipmunk-O-Sauruses that never fails to brighten my day. I even once opened the My Disney Experience app to discover my husband had posed for a few Disney PhotoPass photos with them while proudly displaying his hard-won dino plushies from
Fossil Fun Games, a moment we still laugh about to this day.
Clearly, Diana, I'm a bit
nutty about this particular Chip 'n' Dale meet and greet, so I'm more than a little sad that it is facing
extinction. While it has been announced that
Chester & Hester's Dinosaur Treasures,
TriceraTop Spin, and Fossil Fun Games will be ceasing operations on January 13, 2025, as part of the upcoming retheming of DinoLand U.S.A., no such date has been provided for the prehistoric party that features Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Pluto in themed attire. Since the
Disney Parks Blog recently shared that DinoLand U.S.A. would be closing in phases for its transformation into Pueblo Esperanza, the lack of a closing date on the webpage for Donald's Dino-Bash! likely means that you still have a bit more time to
walk (and hug)
the dinosaur(s).
Of course, character appearances are always subject to change, so I suggest checking your My Disney Experience app after the initial DinoLand closures on January 13 to see if the locations or frequency of any of the Dino-Bash appearances listed above have changed. My pal Diane helpfully assisted a previous Guest with the process
here.
If you are unable to say hello to Chip 'n' Dale during your visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (or you're just up for additional chipmunk shenanigans), I'm happy to share that I have recently spent quality time with them in all four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Since you're clearly a fan of themed apparel, if the My Disney Experience app shows that they are appearing in Tomorrowland or Frontierland while you are in Magic Kingdom Park I encourage you to stop by. While it's not a guarantee, they have been known to sport festive futuristic or Western attire that makes for such fun photo-ops! You'll also find Chip 'n' Dale offering up a hearty feast for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at
Garden Grill Restaurant in EPCOT. In my experience, you'll come for the character interactions but linger for the food.
I hope this was helpful, Diana, and that you are able
to
get *those* dinos at least one more time. If you're in need of any additional assistance as you plan your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
