Hi Julie! Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question today. California Grill at
Disney's Contemporary Resort has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I am so excited you have plans to dine here on your next visit. If you time your dining reservation right, you may have a chance to experience viewing Happily Ever After Fireworks from Disney's Magic Kingdom Park up on the rooftop! What a magical ending to a day that would be!
Julie, I talked to a Cast Member about using the
Disney Dining Plan at
California Grill. With the Disney Dining Plan, you are entitled to one entree, one non-alcoholic beverage (or alcoholic for guests 21+), and one dessert. The
Wagyu Strip Loin at California Grill features an additional surcharge of $47 (price is subject to change) if ordered as your main course in this 3-course meal and unfortunately, this entree is not included in the dining plan. Any entrees with surcharges from other restaurants are also not included.
While California Grill may not be the best use of the dining plan credit, check out
Steakhouse 71, also at Contemporary Resort. This delicious steakhouse has some of the best steak (in my opinion!) in all of Walt Disney World Resort property. Their
Au Gratin potatoes paired with the Filet Mignon is out of this world. My husband also ordered a Flight of the 7 sauces with his steak, and we recommend the Chimichurri sauce! Don't forget to check out the
Steakhouse 71 Lounge for some pre-dinner cocktails and small bites.
Julie, I hope you and your family have the most magical visit to Walt Disney World. Feel free to send any other questions to me before your visit. You've got a friend in me!
Frances
