I know when you book with Disney World you get complimentary luggage tags is it the same with Disneyland? Also do i need to get Magic bands for the park?

Welcome to planDisney, Cheyene! Having a Disneyland Resort vacation on the horizon is so exciting, and I’d be delighted to help you sort out these last few details so you can look forward to your trip with confidence.

I checked with the Vacation Packages travel line about luggage tags, since that’s a common question for Guests who have also visited Walt Disney World. While complimentary luggage tags are not currently offered for Disneyland Resort vacation packages, Guests booking a Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Package do receive a voucher in their travel ePackage to redeem for a collectible pin and lanyard once they arrive. For 2025, there are usually three or four character designs available, so you’ll have the chance to choose your favorite when you redeem your voucher on-site. These pins make a wonderful keepsake to remember your trip.

Now, about MagicBands! You do not need a MagicBand for park entry. As long as you’ve linked your theme park tickets and reservations in the Disneyland app, you’re ready to go. When you arrive at the gate, you’ll simply scan the barcode on your digital ticket, and a quick photo will be taken of each person in your party to link the ticket to the correct Guest. You’ll be all set to enjoy the magic.

That said, if you already own a MagicBand+ from Walt Disney World, you’ll be happy to know that it works seamlessly at Disneyland Resort as well. The MagicBand+ can be used to scan into the parks, redeem Lightning Lane reservations, and link Disney PhotoPass pictures. It also includes interactive features that make the Disneyland experience extra fun, like lighting up and pulsing along with nighttime spectaculars and engaging with certain attractions in unique ways. If you’re still using one of the earlier MagicBands that doesn’t include the “+,” those won’t work at Disneyland, so you’ll want to upgrade if you’d like to use one. New MagicBand+ designs are available on ShopDisney, at all three Disneyland Resort Hotels, and throughout Downtown Disney and the theme parks.

I hope this helps as you get ready for your magical adventure, Cheyene! If you think of any other questions along the way, please visit us again at planDisney. We love helping Guests make the most of their Disneyland Resort vacations.

Wishing you a trip filled with joy, keepsakes, and plenty of Disney magic,
    David
