Hello, I would like to know if admission into the parks is guaranteed with the 14 day Magic park hopper ticket from the UK. We are planning on staying off site and want to know if admission is guaranteed or if the park ever closes due to reaching capacity.

    Hi Kate,

Welcome to planDisney! The 14-Day Magic Ticket is a date-based ticket that does not require any sort of reservation for admission to Disney theme parks. When you buy your ticket, you choose a date range and are able to enter any of Disney’s four theme parks each day of your ticket. The added Park Hopper Option allows you to move freely between them for the ultimate flexibility.

This does not guarantee admission in the rare occurrence of a closure due to capacity constraints. Luckily, closures are extremely rare and typically only occur during holidays like Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Easter, and July 4th! If you are visiting outside of these times, I would not worry about it at all.

If you are visiting during one of the busiest times of the year, there are some strategies to ensure you get your first choice of theme park each day. Arrive early! Getting to the theme park early ensures you will be one of the first to be let in. If you don’t want to miss an evening event, make sure to stay, as you may not be let back in if the theme park reaches capacity. Staying at a Disney Resort hotel also helps as guests staying on the property are given priority when closures begin.

Magic Kingdom is the most popular theme park, so it is often the first to close to capacity on these rare occasions. I like to prioritize Magic Kingdom for a less busy day and leave holiday visits for theme parks like EPCOT that can handle a much larger number of people. The good news is that I have never heard of all four theme parks being closed at the same time due to capacity even on the busiest days of the year. This means that you will be able to enjoy at least one of them while you wait for crowds to ease up at your desired destination.

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
