    Do you know when we will be able to purchase the new magic bands through the My Disney Experience app?

    Hey, Jill! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with another great question! My older daughter loves to stop by the Emporium in Magic Kingdom Park and Mouse Gear in Epcot to check out their selection of MagicBands. She has a collection full of ones adorned with Disney treats or her favorite characters, as well as one perfect for Foolish Mortals. Up until now, guests looking for distinctive MagicBands that feature a few of their favorite Disney things had to search merchandise locations or shopDisney to acquire them. The Disney Parks Blog recently shared some fantastic news that there will soon be an easier way!

    Annual Passholders and guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel will soon have an option available to them to upgrade their complimentary MagicBand to a wide array of colors and even add on more than 30 new Disney character and design options. The magic really can be made your way! This upgrade option has not yet gone live, so I recommend you keep an eye on your MagicBand orders in the My MagicBands and Cards section of My Disney Experience. Once the new module rolls out, you will see the option appear on the customization screen. If you choose to upgrade your MagicBand, then you can be credited $14.99 towards the regular retail cost of the new band. This credited amount is subject to change, so be sure and check the specifics on that page during your customization process.

    Once this upgrade feature does launch, you will be able to customize your MagicBands as long as you have not previously made any selections OR if your complimentary MagicBands have not yet shipped. In the event that the feature goes live and yours have already shipped, then you will still receive the basic complimentary MagicBands.
