Hi, Gayle, and welcome to the symphony known as planDisney! When you want to talk about Disney World Resort, you're playing my song. My family has enjoyed staying at Disney's All-Star Resorts for many years. My son grew up visiting
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. I have photos of him there playing with a toy football as a toddler, and another of him playing ping pong with his teenage girlfriend. What a fun backdrop for a childhood!
As you might know,
Disney's All-Star Music Resort received a major refurbishment a couple of years ago. If you haven't been, you're going to be blown away! The solid floors and coffee maker won me over, but the under-bed storage and amazing new shower really impressed me. Those rooms are small but mighty!
Gayle, I spoke with a Cast Member about the availability of a room at All-Star Music with a king-sized bed, and she said those rooms are typically reserved for guests who have accessibility needs. Those rooms have one king bed and a small dinette table with two padded kitchen chairs. The Cast Member said the seats and backs are slightly padded, but they wouldn't be considered "easy chairs."
The Cast Member said any guest can call
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and make a request for a room with a king bed, but the request typically can't be guaranteed for non-handicapped guests.
The other guest rooms have one regular queen bed plus a pull-down queen table bed. The table bed can be converted to a dinette table which my husband and I have used as a desk space. One suggestion that might appeal to you is to use the table bed as a makeshift sofa. Just pull it down and arrange some pillows to make a cozy nook where you could read or watch TV.
I hope you're able to choose a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel that suits your family in a pitch-perfect way, Gayle. Stop by anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
