Hi Marsha!
Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! As a night shift nurse, coffee probably plays too big of a role in my everyday life, but like Disney, coffee just makes me happy. I have a lovely cup full sitting next to me right now in my favorite Tinker Bell mug.
The type of coffee maker depends a little bit on which type of villa you have booked at
Disney's Old Key West Resort. Deluxe Studios, 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas currently all have a 12-cup Mr. Coffee drip coffeemaker. You’ll find two “pods” of coffee in the room when you check-in, one decaf and one regular from Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea. These pods are essentially a large self-contained coffee filter and shouldn't be confused with a K-cup or Nespresso-type pod. You can get additional coffee by calling Mousekeeping from your room phone. You’ll also find coffee accompaniments such as creamers and sweeteners. I prefer to bring my coffee from home, and if you’d like to do this you’ll want to pack standard, flat bottom coffee filters to use in the coffee maker. If you forget them, often you can find them for sale in the gift shop along with coffee and various accompaniments.
If you’ll be staying in a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa, those rooms have a new type of coffeemaker! You’ll find a Cuisinart brand coffee maker that can both make a standard pot, but also has an option to use K-Cups to make individual cups.
I hope this helps with your planning, Marsha! I wish you a magical and well-caffeinated visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Old Key West Resort!
