Welcome aboard, Jodi! Your first adventure with Disney Cruise Line is going to be so magical. Not only will you have all of the excitement and entertainment that comes with every Disney voyage, but you'll also get to experience Star Wars Day at Sea! I bet you have a couple of very excited padawans!
Edge is such an awesome place for tweens (ages 11 - 14) to hang out and meet new friends, as well as participate in some magical activities with the Youth Counselors there. My daughter was so happy to find out on our last sailing that even though she was a few months away from turning 11, they were happy to include 10 year-olds in on the tween fun in Edge, with my signed parental permission. If you'd like your kiddos to be together, and you're okay with the fact that in Edge, kids can come and go as they please, without parental check-in and check-out, then you're welcome to swing by Edge that first day onboard to chat with the counselors and sign a permission form for your younger child. My daughter could not get enough of Edge that first time, and since we've cruised again, it's really become her favorite spot onboard!
Now, your kids are at ages where they can participate in all three Youth Clubs for that age. Edge, as I mentioned, but also
Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab, which are the two clubs for ages 3 through 12. My daughter loves to go back and forth between those clubs and Edge, depending on what activities are taking place. Your kids are in for such an amazing cruise!
Have fun planning, Jodi, and please stop back with any other questions you might have before you set sail. We're happy to help!
