My kids are just starting to get interested in pin trading, but we don't know where to start. They are also a bit shy about asking strangers to trade with them. Do you have any tips/suggestions for us? Also, where are the best and cheapest places to buy?

    Hi Amy,

Pin trading can be so much fun, Moms Panellist Bret has made a great video with some hints and tips which you can find in the video section here.

The best way to start is to buy a Starter Set which are sold in most of the WDW stores, you can also buy pins elsewhere, I have purchased pins from both eBay and mousepinsonline with no problems but please check they are metal and have the WDW logo on to make sure they are tradeable. You can read some good basic information here.

My girls both love trading and also started off shy but the Cast Members are so great and love to trade their pins. It's worth knowing that a CM won't approach your child to trade so your child can choose who they trade with. Also reassure your children that Mom can go with them, you never know you may love it too and want your own lanyard :)

Hope that helps and have a great trip,

    Jo
