Ahoy Rosanne!
Thanks for sailing by planDisney. I had to grab your question because we were in your exact situation (I'm serious! Same age and everything!) when we sailed on
the Magic this summer. Our daughter was 11, and her twin brothers were 9, and she did not love the idea of hanging out in the Edge on her own. Thankfully, it all worked out, but let me walk you through the rules!
The
Wonder has three "kids" clubs on board (as well as the Vibe - which is so cool I wanted to hang there!) and "it's a small world" nursery. The
Oceaneer Club and
Lab are for littles aged 3-10, and the Edge is for the bigs aged 11-14. Safety is one of my favorite things about the kid's clubs on a Disney cruise. It's one of the few places we feel comfortable leaving our kids, and that's because Tink and Mickey make sure everybody sticks to the rules! Unfortunately for your daughter, because she's a "big," she won't be able to hang with her sibling during regular operating hours. But! The clubs have Youth Activities Open Houses where Mouseketeers of all ages can hang. On our cruise, these open houses happened daily, and our daughter took advantage of those times to hang with her brothers.
The easiest way to keep track of the open hours is through your
Navigator app. On day 1, I searched all the open house hours and added them to my favorites so they popped up on my daily schedule. That way, I could let my girl know when she'd get to head to
S.H.I.E.L.D. Command with her partners-in-crime-fighting!
Rosanne, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to sail back. I wish you a cruise full of Wonder!
