Is Kidani Village at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge still under construction, obstructing the views at Sanaa? We are hoping to see the animals from the restaurant windows. Thanks!

    Jambo, Kristen!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You are about to visit my first Disney “home.” Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is the first Disney Vacation Club Resort that we stayed at, and we love it so much that it is now our bi-annual Christmas tradition to stay there over the holidays!

We recently returned from a stay at the Resort, and yes, construction is ongoing. The Big Boss (i.e., the Mouse!) hasn’t told us when the renovations will be complete, but it looks like the Resort will be sprucing itself up for the foreseeable future. Even though you might not be able to see your hoofed friends while eating, no worries! The Savanna viewing area (right outside of Sanaa) is open and has a gorgeous, unobstructed view! We had lunch there during our stay, and animal-watching outside was the perfect before and after aperitif!

While you are at the Resort, take advantage of the trove of knowledge in the Savanna Guides. We love that we lEARn new things about the animals each time we visit, and we get to meet Cast Members from across the world. My kiddos still talk about a favorite friend from Zimbabwe that we met last yEAR. He was a visiting college student who was studying animal conservation, and I think he may have convinced my twins to become safari guides in Africa when they grow up!

Kristen, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back.

    Asante Sana!
