Keys to the Kingdom tour in November! No phones/cameras allowed, will they hold them, or do we leave them in the resort? Also, I REALLY want a pic of the costume room backstage (dreamt of being costumer for Disney as a kid) Any way to make this happen?

    Hi Amanda -

I've taken several backstage tours, including Keys to the Kingdom. Almost every guest will have a phone and/or camera with them. No one is going to frisk you to make sure you're not carrying a camera. You can leave your phone/camera in your room or in a locker at the park (for a fee), but most guests will just keep these items in their purse or pocket for the sensitive parts of the tour.

There are parts of many of the tour which occur "on stage" during regular park hours with other guests around. You're welcome to take photographs then. But they're really quite serious about no photos backstage. Your guide will clearly announce the point when you're going backstage and ask you to make sure all electronics are safely tucked away. If you're seen taking photos backstage, you may be asked to delete them or may possibly be asked to leave.

If there's something you want a photo of backstage, you could certainly ask about this (don't try to just sneak a picture). You're likely to be denied permission, but you might find a sympathetic cast member who will allow you take one or two pictures of a specific item. Again, it certainly couldn't hurt to ask, but you should be prepared for a negative response.

On the plus side, most cast members you'll encounter are extremely enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
