Ka-chow, Kimberly.
Howdy to you, my fellow Texan! Thanks for two-stepping by planDisney today. I see you are putting the finishing touches on your Walt Disney World Resort vacation before you’re off to Neverland in just a few weeks. I bet the anticipation and excitement is bursting at the seams! I can’t wait for you to experience the magic of the
50th Anniversary Celebration for yourself. Keep your eyes open and see if you can find all of the
Fab 50 Character Collection golden statues throughout the parks. Be sure to check out the
Beacons of Magic after the sun sets, and leave lots of room to try all the festive sips and snacks. You can even look through the
50th Anniversary Celebration Sips and Bites Guide now and make your list of must-try treats ahead of the time.
Magic Kingdom Park does not have any special events listed on May 3, 2022 on the
Special Events & Tours or
Park Hours webpages, but I see that the park closes at 4:30 p.m. EST that day. That is rather early, so I understand your curiosity. I did a little searching and found out Magic Kingdom Park is hosting a Cast Member appreciation event that evening, which is why the park closes so early to visiting Guests. I would not let the early closing time affect whether you decide to visit Magic Kingdom Park that day or not though, Kimberly. Typically when a park closes early in instances like this, the crowds and wait times for attractions at the park that day are minimal. If I were in your shoes, I would still go to Magic Kingdom Park as planned, followed by
a nice dinner at a nearby
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Then, I would head to
Disney Springs to do a little souvenir shopping.
Now, if you want to be able to search for events yourself, there are two ways you can do this from the
Walt Disney World Resort website homepage:
- Hover your mouse over “Things to Do” and click on “View Events” to see information on Special Events & Tours. You can filter the results by theme park using the drop-down menu at the top-right of the page.
- Hover your mouse over “Parks & Tickets” and click on “More Hours.” If you change to the month view and go to May 2022, you will see park hours and events listed by day.
Kimberly, I hope that your magical vacation is everything your heart has been dreaming of and more. If you think of more questions along the way, please stop back by and
let me know.
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
