Hey Kerrie! I love hearing from my Ottawa neighbours! I must admit I've never used a travel agent to book my Disney vacations, but know several who have with great results.
One agency that a fellow panelist highly recommends is Small World Vacations. Although not located in Ottawa, they are Disney experts and often offer incentives for booking with them. Whichever agency you choose, I would be sure they offer services like booking your dining reservations and any special excursions for you. Also, be sure they continue to search for a better deal, as special offers often come up.
If you're a Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) member, then you should definitely look into booking with them. They offer a discounted room rate, as well as special perks for CAA members. These perks include preferred parking, a discount card for use throughout the parks and a special princess storytime.
If you decide to go it alone, be sure to check out the
Special Offers page on the Walt Disney World website. Also, be sure you're on the
Canadian page (open "International version" in bottom right corner), as there have been some awesome deals for Canadians. Right now, we can save 30% right through mid June 2012!
Write me back with any other questions you think of Kerrie!
