Hi Joanne, Coming in from Ottawa Dec5 and was wondering what is the best way to make reservations (directly to Disney site + separate air fair) or (through a travel package ie; West Jet)? Love the panel, lot of useful info. Thanks from fellow Canadian.

A big hello to you too Richard! Thanks for your question. I'm always on the hunt for the best deals, so you came to the right girl! I book our Disney resort through the Walt Disney World website. I check regularly for deals, like the awesome free Disney Dining Plan promotion that's on now.

AIrfare is a different story. As you know, it's not always the easiest to get cheap fares from Canada. I always start by checking Expedia first to see what's available, and then I usually book either through them or through the individual airline. WestJet has offered seat sales from Ottawa as well, but check their site often as they seem to sell out quickly. If you're not going in the dead of winter, you might want to consider flying out of Syracuse, New York. It is a three hour drive from Ottawa, but the savings are often worth it. Last summer, my daughter and I both flew for under $400 in total, which saved us more than $400. In addition to checking Expedia for Syracuse, try jetBlue, as they often have great deals and direct flights to Orlando. Lots of nearby hotels offer parking and shuttle service to the Syracuse airport, or you can park at the airport for $6.50 a day.

I hope this helps, Richard. Write back if you have any other questions. Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!!
