Hi Bev,
Thank you so much for asking me a question!
There are several hotels that are very close to Disney parks. Firstly there are the monorail resorts which consist of the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian. These are all just a short monorail ride or boat ride from the Magic Kingdom and you are also able to walk from the Contemporary. They all offer fantastic views of the fireworks show Wishes and also offer very easy access to Epcot via the Ticket and Transportation Centre.
But the best park access walking wise has to be from the Boardwalk Resorts, these are just a short walk or boat ride away from the International Gateway entrance to Epcot which happens to be my favourite park. You have a choice of several hotels here including the Yacht and Beach Club, the Boardwalk Inn or the Swan and Dolphin. The Boardwalk is a fantastic area consisting of restaurants, shops and fun nightlife, you can often see entertainers there too! You can see some details and photos by clicking
HERE (you may get redirected to the UK site, if so just click the "visit US site" link at the top left) Also if you click
HERE you can view a map of the whole of Disney property so you can get an idea of where everything is located.
The only down side of all the hotels that I've mentioned is that they're all classed as deluxe hotels so do cost more than other onsite resorts but the location really is worth it. Also the Yacht & Beach club has a fantastic pool, the best on property in my opinion, so if you have children they would also love that.
I hope that has helped,
Jo
