Hi Jennifer! Congratulations on booking your first visit to Walt Disney World. I can guarantee once you arrive and experience all the magic, it will not be your last trip. I have been vacationing at Walt Disney World for nearly 30 years, and no two vacations are the same, each one is filled with memories that I will cherish forever. I could go on for hours about what would be great for you to see, and do but let me stick to some of the essential "first visit" must dos.
Each one of my children (and maybe Mom and Dad) have their first Mickey Ears in a treasured spot in their bedrooms. I highly recommend these as a souvenir, and they can even be personalized with your child's name. These can be purchased at several merchandise locations throughout the theme parks. I also recommend you buy or create an autograph book in order for your children to get the signatures of some of their most beloved Disney friends. My children often like to see who has gotten the most autographs at the end of our trip. (Much to their surprise, it is usually Mommy who wins.)
Character dining at Walt Disney World is a great way to meet some of your favorite pals without having to wait in line, you also get some really delicious food out of the deal. My personal favorites are
Donald's Dining Safari at Tusker House Restaurant, Chef Mickey's, and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Each of these options offer plenty of character interaction, you will want to make sure you have your camera handy.
Wow Jennifer, I have run out of space so quickly. I would love to continue to help out as you plan your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Please stop back by and let me answer any additional questions you may have.
Dream as Dreamers Do,
~Jen
