Hi! Does the January Marathon affects the Early Park Entry timeframe? This benefit will work during this special event in 2023? Thanks!

    Hi Rebeca!

The Walt Disney World Marathon is such an exciting event! I run this race every year and it's a blast! The great news is that if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can take advantage of the Early Theme Park Entry, even during the marathon weekend.

The Walt Disney World theme parks do get crowded during marathon weekends, but I have a few tips to help you out. The event kicks off with a 5K on Thursday, January 5. The 5K typically clears out pretty early, as does the 10K the following day. On Saturday, the half marathon begins at EPCOT and goes through Disney's Magic Kingdom. I highly recommend visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom on that date because there will be less runner traffic in that area. The big event, the marathon, occurs on Sunday, January 8. The marathon course runs through all four parks, so the crowds will be the heaviest on this date. The race starts and finishes in the EPCOT parking lot, so you may want to avoid EPCOT on this date.

While you are visiting the holiday decorations will still be up at the parks and resorts! Make sure to check out the holiday tree display in Disney Springs! The holidays at Magic Kingdom are wonderful also!

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
