Hello Claire!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is an adventure all on its own! With the decor, music, animals, unique activities, and knowledgeable international Cast Members, this resort is worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying here. Did you know the Lodge has the largest collection of African art outside the continent of Africa? As
Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas is one of our family’s Home Resorts and we always look forward to a stay there.
Currently, Jambo House remains closed, and there has not been a reopening date announced. You may want to consider staying at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village which has the same unique decor and feel, and offers its own art, animals, and activities. If you love Jambo House, you will likely feel right at home at Kidani Village.
The Mara quick service location at Jambo House is open, and if staying at Kidani you would be able to walk over to dine for another familiar experience!
If the resort is not open in time for your visit, perhaps this is the perfect occasion to try something new? If you enjoy resorts with unique theming, consider
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows where Guests feel transported to a tropical Polynesian island resort. Enjoy a Dole Whip by the pool, and lovely waterfront views of Cinderella Castle. Another great option is to consider the Epcot area resorts.
Disney’s Beach Club Villas and
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas are both located within walking distance of Epcot, or you can walk or take the new
Disney Skyliner to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
If you need more recommendations on what resort to choose or any additional questions before your visit, I hope you’ll come back and visit us here on planDisney, Claire. We are here to help!
