How do I use my iPhone for my dining plan?

Hiya, John, and welcome planDisney! I'm so happy that you're here today with this great question about dining plans at Walt Disney World Resort. It's no secret that I love to use a dining plan during my vacation - I love the value, convenience, and how it allows me to enjoy my vacation even more!

John, you'll be happy to know that there are many ways to use your iPhone at Walt Disney World Resort, and this includes using and tracking your dining plan. My favorite ways to use an iPhone for dining plans are: placing a Mobile Food & Beverage Order, purchasing meals and snacks, making Advance Dining Reservations, and tracking my past purchases.

First, start in the My Disney Experience Mobile App. When you're getting hungry, locate a quick-service restaurant within the app, like Backlot Express at Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll see the Mobile Order icon, which shows you can easily place a Mobile Order. Click "Order Food" and choose your pickup time arrival window. Scroll down to choose an entree (don't miss the Cuban Sandwich), then a beverage (remember, adults can choose a beverage with alcohol). You'll confirm that you'd like to use a dining plan quick-service meal, and then you can check out and pick up your food during your chosen window!

When you're placing an order in person, like at a table service dining location, be sure to let your Server know ahead of time that you're using a dining plan. They'll be able to relay any details that you might need to know about what's included at that particular location. When you're ready for the bill, present your MagicMobile Pass. This functions as your valid Disney Resort ID. As a backup, you can also present your MagicBand or Key to the World card from the Front Desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

Be sure to make Advance Dining Reservations for table service restaurants 60 days before the day you check in to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You can do this in the My Disney Experience Mobile App by pressing the "+" button and selecting "Check Dining Availability." If you have a specific restaurant in mind, go straight to that restaurant within the app and click "Reserve Dining" to choose a date and time. There, you can select add-ons like Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes, add Dietary and Accessibility Requests, and secure your spot. When it's time to dine, check in via your phone to let the Cast Members know you've arrived.

When you'd like to check on your remaining meals and snacks, head back into your My Disney Experience app. In the Resort Hotel section, you can check your past transactions as well as your remaining meals and snacks. It's super easy to keep track of all of these items now, and you can even see which Guest made each purchase within your app!

John, I hope this is helpful as you continue to get more comfortable with using your iPhone to navigate your dining plan. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you prepare for your vacation!

    Bon appetit!
