What do you have on the International Festival of the Arts at Epcot

    Hi there, Karla.

Boy-oh-boy, am I glad you stopped by planDisney to ask this question! EPCOT's four festivals are one of my favorite things to experience at Walt Disney World Resort, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is my most favorite of all. My husband and I first attended this festival during its inaugural year in 2017. We loved it so much that we plan a trip back "home" around its dates each year just to be able to experience it again.

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts celebrates art in several forms - Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Culinary Arts. You'll be able to sample unique flavor "masterpieces" that are both visual and flavorful works of Culinary Art at nearly 15 Festival food studios located throughout EPCOT, so be sure to pack your appetite! As you dine on these delicious dishes, be sure to catch some of the Performing Arts offerings around the park. You can take a seat and enjoy the vocal renderings of performers from various Disney musicals in the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series or watch an artist paint to the beat on stage where they'll create an original painting in only minutes before your very eyes!

The Visual Arts are celebrated in Artist Galleries throughout EPCOT where you can view and purchase artwork and even meet the artists on select days. Head over to the America Gardens Theater and learn how to draw a Disney character from an animation artist in the Animation Academy. Definitely take time to stroll by the chalk artists on the bridge between World Celebration and World Showcase where you can find them creating visual masterpieces with nothing more than chalk. It's a sight to behold!

Personally, I think the best part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is the Fun For All Ages offerings, especially the interactive components where YOU get to be a part of the magic. All around World Showcase, there are Artful Photo Ops where you can literally step inside a piece of famous artwork and become a part of the painting. Disney PhotoPass photographers are typically on hand waiting to capture these artistic moments, so it's definitely worth considering adding Memory Maker onto your vacation package to be able to download your photos.

A family favorite for us is the interactive Expression Section: A Paint by Numbers Mural where you get to help create a beautiful mosaic masterpiece along with fellow guests. You'll even receive a complimentary postcard of what the completed mural will look like to remember your experience by. You can also go on a scavenger hunt to look for a familiar purple dragon with wings - Figment himself - hidden in artwork all around World Showcase in Figment's Brush with the Masters for a small extra fee. When you've completed your hunt, you can return your map to one of two locations in exchange for an artful souvenir.

Don't forget to pick up a Festival guide upon entering EPCOT, so you can be sure you don't miss anything, Karla. I can't wait for you to experience all this Festival has to offer for yourself!
