Hi, We are interested in staying at Wilderness Lodge and using the Dining Plan. Do we need reservations for breakfast at Whispering Canyon? I am hoping that we can simply show up at the restaurant at our hotel without advanced reservations. Thank you

    Hi Sandy,

I've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge many times - it's my Disney Vacation Club home resort.

Whether you can walk in to the Whispering Canyon Cafe is dependent on a number of factors such as your arrival time at the restaurant and the overall parks crowd level. In my experience, if you arrive a few minutes before the 7:30 opening time during the slow season, you'll probably be able to walk in. If you arrive at 8:30am during the holidays, you'll probably have to wait at least an hour or more to eat.

If the Whispering Canyon is a must-do for your family, then I suggest that you make reservations. However, if you'd like to "wing it" you can always head down to the Roaring Forks Quick Service restaurant if you can't get into the Whispering Canyon.

Another strategy you might try is to make a breakfast reservation for later in your trip. You'll have that as a fallback in case you can't get in another day, but if you are able to walk in earlier in your visit, then you can cancel that reservation.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
