I am interested in staying at one of the Port Orleans resorts, but with two small children, making it home to take an afternoon nap is very important to us. How frequently do buses run and how long do they take? Do they go directly to the resorts?

Hello there, Jessica! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and asking your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!

Despite not having small children, I am just as intent on scheduling afternoon naps for me and my family during our vacations at Walt Disney World Resort! Regardless of age, I firmly believe that the best way of maximizing your experience in the parks is to build in scheduled downtime to relax and recuperate.

Fortunately, this is quite easy to manage when staying at a Disney Resort hotel! Theme park transportation will be running from the theme parks to all Disney Resort hotels throughout the day making returning back to your room fairly simple. You and your family will be able to use the Disney Bus Service to return to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside for your afternoon nap. Buses will be arriving approximately every 30 minutes to pick up Guests and take them back to their Disney Resort hotel. Depending on which park you will be leaving from, transportation should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Unless otherwise noted, all buses will be traveling directly to their respective Disney Resort hotels.

You may also now use the My Disney Experience app to see the estimated bus departure times from your Disney Resort hotel, as well! This can be incredibly helpful when preparing to leave for your mornings in the parks while trying to simultaneously wrangle your young ones!

Hopefully, this information will assist you as you continue to plan for your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
