Hi Peter!
Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are busy planning what I'm sure will be a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your family. While I enjoy visiting each of the four theme parks during our vacations,
Magic Kingdom Park holds a special place in my heart! My earliest Disney memory is riding
Dumbo the Flying Elephant with my grandmother when I was just five years old, and I make a point to ride this attraction on each visit to honor her and remember that special day.
Peter, you have three Disney Resort hotel options with direct access to the
Walt Disney World Monorail -
Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Each of these resorts is gorgeous and offers delicious dining options, but if I were planning a one-night stay with a Magic Kingdom visit, I think I would lean towards the Contemporary. You are just a quick walk from the park entrance, making it easy to sneak back to the resort if you would like to take a break in the middle of the day. I would also recommend a reservation at
Chef Mickey's during your stay for a high-energy character meal everyone is sure to enjoy!
At most Disney Resort hotels, you can request either connecting rooms (with a door between) or adjoining rooms (nearby). While room requests cannot be guaranteed, I've always found that Cast Members will do their best to accommodate. As you're
making your reservations, I'd encourage you to check out the
current special offers, because there are some great savings available right now! Since you're only planning to visit Magic Kingdom for one day, you'll need to
purchase your tickets separately, as creating a vacation package by combining your resort reservation and tickets requires a minimum two-day ticket purchase. If you run into any issues making your reservations online, you can always
call Tickets and Hotel Reservations for additional assistance.
As a Guest staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection, you'll
enjoy several benefits. One of our favorites is
Early Theme Park Entry, which gives you an extra 30 minutes in the park before it officially opens for other Guests. You can also enjoy
free water park admission on your check-in date, if that is something you would like to access during your vacation.
I hope this information has been helpful, Peter, as you plan for your upcoming visit! If you have additional questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
Cheers!
Kristi
