I am interested in planning a cruise for my family of 6, but we do not want to stay in 2 different rooms. is there a way i can see bigger rooms to accommodate us all?

Ahoy, Brittany! Welcome aboard planDisney! Planning a Disney Cruise Line sailing for a crew of six sounds like the sweetest kind of family adventure, and I totally understand wanting to keep everyone together in one “home base” at sea!

You absolutely can see bigger stateroom options that accommodate larger families. Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of suites and larger-category staterooms across the fleet, and the easiest way to window shop is on the Disney Cruise Line website by starting a booking for your selected sailing and selecting your party size. Once you do, the available stateroom categories will populate, and you can click in to view stateroom details, deck plans, and photos so you can picture your family’s setup before you book!

Now, if you truly want everyone in one space, suites are usually the best route. Depending on the ship, you may see options like:

    • Concierge-level 1 or 2 bedroom suites, with more square footage and extra bathrooms.
    • Very large, premium suites at the top end, depending on the ship and itinerary, like the 2-story tower suite on the Disney Destiny.

I have stayed in suites onboard cruise ships, and can attest to the fact that they are amazing, with additional perks only found in these larger suites, but I also want to share my favorite budget-friendly tip, because it can be the best of both worlds! Connecting staterooms are a fantastic option to save money compared to most suites while still keeping your family together. You book two staterooms side-by-side with a connecting door in between, and once that door is open, it feels like one shared space with double the standard sleeping capacity. Since most standard staterooms sleep 3 to 4 Guests, connecting rooms can give you space for 6 to 8 while keeping everyone just a few steps away!

If you go this route, you can look specifically for “connecting staterooms” during booking by toggling the connecting staterooms option. You can also call and speak with an amazing Disney Cruise Line Cruise Specialist who can help you pick staterooms in the category and on the deck you would like, and ensure they are connecting.

Brittany, with so many choices of itineraries, and numerous ships in the fleet, you will be able to plan the vacation of your dreams onboard Disney Cruise Line!

Cruise back by with any additional questions, my planDisney friends and I are happy to help!
