Welcome aboard, Heather! I see you live in New Jersey. It certainly would be super convenient to set sail with Disney Cruise Line from
New York when the
Disney Magic includes that city as its home port during certain parts of the year.
I, too, am anxiously awaiting the rest of the 2020 Disney Cruise Line itineraries. I don't know a specific date of when they'll be announced, but based on last year's announcement of the 2019 itineraries, I'm hoping to hear about the summer itineraries in March and hopefully the fall itineraries will be announced in late May. Currently, itineraries for early 2020 are open for booking, but the New York sailings have traditionally been in the fall, so let's hope that we'll hear about those later this spring! The best time to book a cruise is when the itineraries are first announced, as it gives you the best price and selection, so check out this year's New York itineraries to get an idea of what you might like and then when the new 2020 sailings are announced, you'll be ready to make your reservation.
I don't typically see as many
special offers for Disney Cruise Line as I do for Walt Disney World, but here's a little tip, especially since you live so close to the port in New York. When a sail date is getting closer and there are still staterooms available onboard, sometimes Disney will offer GTY rates (guarantee rates) that help you save a bit of money on certain stateroom categories. If you book a rate listed as GTY, you don't get to choose your specific stateroom, but for a lower price are guaranteed a stateroom in that category or better. We've done this a few times and were even moved up to a higher category stateroom than we paid for! So, keep that in mind too.
Have fun planning, Heather!
