Interested in buying tickets for firework dessert party at Magic Kingdom but I am so confused on what is available. Can you explain the differences between standing and seated - other than the obvious :) Also, are seated views blocked by standing people?

Hi Wendy! Walt Disney World is a magical place to visit any time of the yEAR, but visiting during Christmastime will kick the magic up several notches! I see you're inquiring about the Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom Park. There are two viewing areas to choose from, and besides the obvious differences, there are some important ones too.

I always like to surprise my kiddos with one splurge-worthy event every trip, so I went down the rabbit hole of research before our trip in 2017. I was very torn between the two choices, but I ended up deciding the option with Plaza Garden Viewing, and I will assure you that we were not disappointed! Not only was this location less expensive, I felt we were closer to the castle and fireworks (as far as viewing from Tomorrowland Terrace, the views from the seated area do vary a bit. The closer you are to the railing, the better). After enjoying our desserts on the Tomorrowland Terrace, Cast Members escorted us to the grass turf area in the Hub where we were able to sit and wait comfortably (actually, there was no one obstructing our view, so we even sat for the entire show which was extra magical with our tired feet). The only thing that made me pause before booking is that the Tomorrowland Terrace option offers covered seating that protects you from inclement weather- luckily the skies didn't open up until we were on our way back to the car!

I checked the food options today, and I see some treats that have been added since our trip. I'd go back just for the Taco Spring Rolls! By the way, if you haven't seen Happily Ever After yet, you're in for a spectacular treat. Bring your hankie because you might have a few tears rolling down your cheeks by the end!
