Hi Luciano! Welcome to planDisney!
Like you, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of
Paint the Night! It holds a very special place in my heart, and it was such a meaningful moment for our family of four to see it light up the parade route again when it returned on May 16th. There’s just something unforgettable about watching those dazzling floats glow against the evening sky.
You might remember that when Paint the Night first debuted back in 2015, Disney released interactive paintbrushes that synced with the parade. While these specific items haven’t returned for the current run, there’s still some glowing magic in store. If you have a
MagicBand+, it will light up and interact with certain elements of the parade. And here’s a fun surprise: if you still have your original paintbrush from 2015, it will still work with the show! So if you've been holding onto it as a souvenir, it's more than just a keepsake. It still has some magic left in it.
Even without interactive merchandise, Paint the Night is a can’t-miss experience. Right now, it’s running twice nightly, with viewing spots available all along the parade route at Disneyland. My two favorite places to catch it? Main Street, for that fully immersive, all-around glow, and the area near “it’s a small world.” That second location has a bonus: it’s also one of the best places to watch
Wondrous Journeys and
A Tapestry of Happiness, two nighttime spectaculars that bring even more wonder to your evening.
Wondrous Journeys is a stunning celebration of 100 years of Disney animation. Often accompanied by fireworks, the show features unforgettable moments from Disney’s animated legacy. One of my favorite segments is the soaring musical blend of “Beauty and the Beast”, “Hercules”, and “Moana”, all woven together into “Out There” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It’s breathtaking and deeply moving.
Luciano, no matter how you choose to end your Disney day, you’re in for a summer full of sparkle and spectaculars. If you have any more questions, or want help planning the perfect evening lineup, stop by again at planDisney!
Wishing you a magical summer,
David
