Hi, I would like information about the tickets we need to purchase for Halloween. There are 3 adults and one toddler age 2. Well, she will be celebrating her second birthday at Disney.

    Hi Alma!

Welcome to planDisney! Halloween at Disney World is already SO much fun…and to add a birthday celebration onto that will make it even better!

While there are plenty of fall decorations and fun fall activities around the parks and resorts, the big celebration is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The party takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights. Last year, the party started in August and went through Halloween.

If you’re hoping to go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, you will need a separate ticket for that event. We haven’t heard when those tickets will go on sale and what nights the party will be offered just yet. But in past years, we’ve found out that information in mid to late April. So we should be hearing all about the fun pretty soon!

I’d keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog or the Disney Parks social media pages for any announcements.

Once the tickets are on sale, you’ll be able to purchase them online. I recommend purchasing them as soon as you can, as this party is popular and will likely sell out eventually. Remember, the 2-year-old birthday girl will not need a ticket to the party since kids under 3 years old do not need park admission. So, you will only need to purchase tickets for the adults.

It’s good to note that with the purchase of your ticket, you’ll likely be able to enter the Magic Kingdom earlier than the listed party time (check your party ticket for details). So, you can decide if you want to use a regular park ticket during the day to go to Magic Kingdom or a different park or if you’d rather relax at the resort during the day and only head to the park for the party.

When we attended the party with our little guys in the past, we preferred to spend the day at the pool and get a good nap prior to the party. That helped them make it later into the night to enjoy all the party had to offer. My boys’ absolute favorite parts were the Boo-to-You Parade and the trick-or-treat stations!

Of course, a Halloween party isn’t complete without the costumes, and everyone in your party will be more than welcome to dress up for the occasion! You can find the costume guidelines here.  While my family kept it simple with themed t-shirts, some families go all out. I loved seeing everyone’s creativity!

I hope you have the best trip! Let us know if you have any other questions.
