Welcome back, Debbie!
Snorkeling at Castaway Cay is one of my family's favorite ways to enjoy time on Disney's private island! A few months ago, my son and I even spotted a sting ray and a gorgeous sea turtle in the Snorkel Lagoon! Wow!
You can pre-reserve snorkel equipment rental during your online check-in, which begins 75 days prior to sailing if this is your first Disney Cruise. Log into your reservation to begin check-in and you'll also see the
Port Adventures that you can book. You'll also want to log in early so you can snag tickets to some of the popular special character greetings that are only available with complimentary early tickets. Don't wait to log in once that 75 day mark arrives, as other guests who have sailed before with Disney can begin booking these fun extras 90 or more days prior to sailing based on their Castaway Club level. Some sell out quickly, and I don't want you to miss out!
But, snorkeling is not something you need to worry about selling out. There is always plenty of equipment available, so if you arrive at the beach and then decide then that you'd like to snorkel, you can always rent from Flippers n' Floats or Gils Fins and Boats on the island. Currently, the price to rent snorkel gear is $32 for ages 10 and up, or $16 for ages 5-9. You are also welcome to do what my family does and bring your own snorkel gear to use in the lagoon at no additional cost. All guests in the Snorkel Lagoon must wear the provided life vest, so if you bring your own gear, just stop by the rental area to borrow a vest for free.
There are plenty of chairs, loungers, and umbrellas on the entire beach, all included in your cruise. There are also hammocks spread around the beach. No rental required! Have fun planning, Debbie!
